There are usually a handful of holes-in-one at The Crossings
golf course every year, but an ace on a par-4 hole is almost
unheard of. Eddie Orzania of Willmar made an incredible hole-in-one on the
343-yard, par-4, 16th hole during the Crossings Classic last Thursday.
Playing in the four-man scramble tournament, Orzania “hit a big fade” that
landed in the parking lot, took a huge bounce to the right, and ended up in the
cup, although no one in the group could see it from the tee box because the hole
is a dogleg left and the green is not visible through the trees. Andy
Jacobson of Willmar won the “A” player part of the tournament last Wednesday,
shooting a 5-under-par 67 that included an eagle on the 16th hole. Winning Thursday's
scramble tournament with a score
of 58 were Andy Jacobson, Steve Beals, Robb Sachariason & Jack Casey.
