Kevin McFarland shatters course record with 62
By Bruce
Olson, Montevideo American News
When Kevin McFarland tried to
post his score for his handicap from his round last Wednesday, the
computer wouldn't accept it. It was too low.
McFarland shot a sizzling 10-under-par 62 to break the 18-hole course
record at The Crossings.
Playing with his regular Wednesday men's day fivesome of Terrin Torvik,
Harland Kemerling, Todd Hay and Rob Sachariason, McFarland shot
nine-hole rounds of 32 and 30. The 62 broke the previous course record
of 64 set three years ago by Gary Cliplef, a former Montevidean who now
lives in California.
McFarland's previous best 18-hole round was a 66 in the "A" player
tournament of the Crossings Classic two years ago.
McFarland, 40, lives and works in Granite Falls, and has been a member
of The Crossings for eight years.
