the Montevideo Golf program.. The school board did re-instate varsity gol= f for 2009, but it did not
re-instate the junior high program. = ; The funds raised will provide a junior high program and help offse= t
the costs of uniforms and equipment.

The 2009 Membership statements will be = in the mail in the next day or so if you have not already received it. Just a reminder to call to reserv= e your court time. Please do = not assume that a court is open. Court #1 was repainted the end of October and is ready for play.

As one season ends, we begin preparing = for the next. We are working = on the 2009 Membership Statements. <= /span>They should be finalized at our November board meeting. Look for yours in the mail the first part = of December or you can go to the web site and download a printable copy in = December.

Preparations are under way for the Annu= al Stockholders Meeting. Stoc= kholders, mark your calendar for January 18th, 2009. More details on the meeting will follow later.=

We would like to thank Kari, Gary &= Jeremiah and all of their staff for a wonderful year on and off the course= .

Please keep in mind that we are open We= dnesday and Friday nights come across the river and enjoy a meal this winte= r.

The clubhouse will maintain hours on We= dnesdays and Fridays this winter. Look for emails highlighting the dinner specials and the happy hour sp= ecials.

Friday, November 7th - 1/2 price = boneless wings and Walleye (breaded or broiled) with choice of potato and t= ossed salad featured for $10.95.

The annual meeting of the Stockholders will be held on
Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 5 p.m. at the club. More details to follow.

We are taking bookings for the = 2009 season and the schedule is filling in f= ast so don't hesitate if you are looking
for a facility to host your event. = Class reunions, wedding receptions, grooms dinner, wedding annivers= aries or
even High School graduation celebrations. The clubhouse is a p= erfect location to host your special event.

The golf season came to a crashing halt= today. As I look out my wind= ow, all I see is a blanket of snow on the ground. Many of you found a couple of hours this week to sneak= in a November round of golf at the course. It is not very often you can say that you played a round in = November and it was not cold or windy.

Looking back over this past year, I thi= nk we can all say it was a great year for golfing at The Crossings. From tee to green, our course never = played better than it did this year. = A new course record was shot this year by Kevin Mc Farland. Carol Mulder won her 8th women’= ;s title after many years of competing and Doc Anderson is our Men’s = Club Champion.

From the clubhouse, we were treated wit= h several new menu times including the best boneless wings in town, not to = mention a great Mango Margarita. Thanks for a great year, Kari and Gary and your staff.

I need to thank the Board of Directors = for their time and dedication to the golf course this year. I think there were only three meetings this = year where we did not have all board members in attendance. At those three meetings, we were only missin= g one board member. It certai= nly made my job easier by having the entire board present at meetings and m= aking decisions together.

Thanks to everyone for a great year at = The Crossings and remember that it is only 154 days till the Masters weeken= d and we will be playing golf again. = See you soon.

The last month has been a flurry of act= ivity around here. As many of= you may have noticed, we have completed the majority of the work in rebuil= ding the 15th green. The gree= n size went from 2600 square feet to 4500 square feet. The back of the green is now approximately 10 yar= ds longer when we place a blue pin. = In the spring, we will reshape the putting surface and the fringe ar= ound the green. We will seed = the green and will use sod for the collar and around the green. A whole bunch of thanks must go out to = the following: Royal Tire for= letting us store the sand on their parking lot; Bob Lauritsen for hauling product, equipment use and ab= out 100 phone calls; Rob Sach= ariason for his help in tiling out the new green and bunkers; Denny Larson = for the use of his pay loader and other equipment; and Heartland Electric for the use of their trencher = for digging in the irrigation lines and tile lines.

Many thanks also to Jeremy Enevoldsen f= or the use of his compressor to help us blow out the irrigation lines. Thanks for making that available = to us this fall.

Hope everyone enjoyed the year on the g= olf course as much as I enjoyed my first year here. See you in the Spring!
