Carol Mulder wins 8th Montevideo women's title

Playing solid golf from tee to green, Carol Mulder won her fourth straight and eighth overall Montevideo Ladies Club Tournament at The Crossings Tuesday.

Mulder shot an 82 to finish seven shots ahead of Kathy Ward. Barb Huntley was third with a 90.

Mulder shot a 41 on the front nine, but she was just three shots ahead of Ward, Sandra Ryman, Barb Huntley and Carrie Strei, but Mulder shot another 41 on the back nine to pull away from the rest of the field.

Except for making an 8 on the 17th hole, Mulder was seldom in much difficulty.

"The front (nine) is usually easier for me, so I felt I was doing well on the back nine," said Mulder. "I didn't have any trouble driving. I hit a lot of greens in regulation."
